Meet Your Therapist...

Hello, my name is Sudhir V. Tawalare.   I am  a licensed Physical Therapist in
New York and New Jersey.   I am  a board certified specialist in Orthopaedic
Physical Therapy from American Physical Therapy associations speciality board.
According to APTA there are 66000  registered therapists  in USA, only 6000 of them
are certified specialist in their respective areas.   I am  also a Certified Hand
Therapist.   I have been a therapist for 21 years with experience in treating
consumers with Physical Therapy needs in three different countries, with last
sixteen years of experience in US.
I was born in India and thats where I earned my Bachelors degree in Physical
therapy, and  post graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation.   After my post graduate
Diploma I worked at All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
Mumbai ( Bombay), India as clinical instructor for post graduate students of
Physical/Occupational therapy.   At this institute I began my journey as a Physical
therapist and a personal quest to learn as much as in my field of interest, i.e.
Orthopaedic and hand Therapy.
After four years of experience at this institute, in 1989,  I had the opportunity to
work in United Kingdom.   In United kingdom I worked for a Community hospital
Physical Therapy Department.
In 1990,  I came to US.   My first position as a staff therapist was at Kings Brook
Jewish medical Center, in Brooklyn, NY.  Soon,  I got a position as senior therapist
at Montefiore Medical center Bronx, NY, then as  acting chief of physical therapy at
the same hospital.   In 1996 I moved to New Jersey as a clinical specialist for
Sports Medicine and Rehab of North Jersey, Riverdale New Jersey.   I worked at
this facility for six years then got my specialty Board Certification in Orthopaedic
Physical Therapy.   Next I took position as a center coordinator for Health South
corporation outpatient facility in South Orange, New Jersey where I worked on
specialty certification in Hand Therapy.   During all these years I was dreaming of
my own private practice where I could do the best of what was needed for the
consumer.   Thats how Northeast Rehabilitation was established.  My wife Cathryn
B. Derham,
OTRL and I  are the owner.   My wife is a Paediatric Occupational
Therapist with a specialization in Sensory Integration.   She practices in New
Jersey.   We live with our 8 year old son Samir in Park Ridge New Jersey.
I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1993 in good
standing.   I Love motor bike riding, playing badminton, and enjoy traveling.
I am still faithful to my quest;  I have been attending continuing education in my
areas of speciality tirelessly so I can bring the most current treatment techniques
and equipments to serve my clients.   With your continued support I am confident I
will achieve my goal.

Thank You.

Meet the Office Manager...

Hello, my name is Marnie Varga.  I am the office manager here at Northeast
Rehabilitation, Inc.  I love working here.  Nothing tops meeting new people often,
and getting to know other wonderful people, who need some attention and a
positive boost.  As I have been told by a patient, coming to Northeast Rehab is like
going to a party.  I don't feel like I am going to work, when I come here, it is always a
pleasant experience.
I came to work here by sheer luck.  My shoulder suddenly froze up one day at a
job I used to have.  I went to see a Doctor and was sent for tests.  I was then sent to
get physical therapy for three weeks if I improved or else...I started by looking for a
therapist in my health plan, and then I looked for someone nearby that wasn't a
huge impersonal facility.  I found Sudhir.  He was a ten minute walk for me.  It was a
dream come true for someone in need of help and bit of attention.  He got my
shoulder moving, but I needed surgery nevertheless.  After surgery I came to him
again.  With the pain I was in, I could not believe that I would ever feel normal again.
He insisted and pushed me to make myself recover.  It worked, I now work here.
For help, just the right amount of attention, and maybe a little bit of fun thrown in,
Northeast rehab is the place for you.
